Building Your Amazon Wedding Registry

Must-Haves, What’s great, and My Top Tips

I’m a huge fan of all things Amazon, wedding or not. I mean, life is so easy with it! I’ve certainly spent way too much money in the years because of it, but when it comes to weddings, it is so easy to DIY, buy last minute anything, and register for a wedding! I’m sharing with you today some of my favorite amazon items to register for and tips about wedding registries at large.

What’s so great?

The world's largest selection

Amazon goes way beyond just houseware. You can register for anything on Amazon. I recommended a lot of best sellers and things I would personally register for, or things I use now, but you are totally welcome to register for books, for bedding, décor items... truly anything! Amazon has it all.

Fast, free shipping

Two-day shipping on eligible registry items—you'll get your gifts in a snap! Okay this is actually like the biggest selling point to me! I feel like there’s always maybe 30% of the wedding guests that wait until the last minute and then end up bringing gift cards or things not on the registry—this is a full proof option to receive the actual gifts you registered for!

Easy returns

Don't love it? You can return any gift within 180 days. You heard that right... 180 days. So, no worries if you go on a 3-week honeymoon- there’s still plenty of time when you get back to return the items you thought you loved on the website but didn’t love in person.

Gift Grouping

If you have expensive taste, friends and family can chip in on the bigger ticket items! So don’t be afraid to put that amazing espresso machine on there! Chances are maybe your bridal party will all chip in for it!

Tips:

  • Don’t ever just not register for something because you think no one will buy it, you would be very surprised! It never hurts to register for things you want!

  • Don’t register too many places, if you register at too many places, people might get shopping fatigue looking at all of the sites. It will also make for easier returns when you only have 1-3 places to return to!

  • Register for more than you think you need! Get 2 sets of plates, 3 sets of towels, 1 or 2 extra of everything because dishes get dirty quick and you have to think about entertaining and having guests over!

  • I always recommend going with the essentials and then adding the splurge items, that way you aren’t all over the place.

  • It can be intimidating starting out building a registry so I like to think of them in terms of rooms. It can be super easy to jump all over the place so take it by bedroom, kitchen, living room, etc.
