Using Various Colors and Styles
Ladies, ladies, ladies, we have all seen mismatched bridesmaid dresses. We love them! Yes, finally someone is doing something different with color and style for their girls… Poor bridesmaids in the past.
Anyway, you may look at mismatched colored bridesmaid dresses and think to myself “that is too much work.” Well I have streamlined this process for you and made this so easy breezy if you want to do it! Well.. technically the stores make it easy, but I researched for you!
Today we have Birdy Grey!!

The industry has been in need of a hero like Birdy Grey. Did I mention the prices? Yeah. Out of this world. Every single dress is $99. Which let me tell you, is a steal. Birdy Grey is a NEW direct-to-consumer bridesmaid dress brand on a mission to make everyone in the bridal party happy with gowns that pop in pictures, and prices that won't break the bank. Every dress comes in a variety of colors and styles to make mix + match a piece of cake! So first, you will choose your color palette for your wedding. After deciding on you colors, you can go to town on the website!
The reason I like letting your bridesmaids wear a style they choose is because it is an investment for them to be in your wedding so personally, I would want something I could wear again. Often times we have one main insecurity that we would try to hide, not everyone’s is the same. If we let the maids choose their own dress, we can be sure they are their most confident and happy. And who can complain about a $99 price tag? That is unheard of in this industry.
Depending on how many bridesmaids you have can dictate the amount of different colors you want, and styles.
If you have three, all three can wear different colors and styles. Or the same color with a different style of dress and vice versa for same dress, different color.
If you have four, I would do two colors, two bridesmaids in each. All in the same dress or different dresses.
If you have five, I would do two colors. Three bridesmaids in one color, and two in the other. All in the same dresses or different.
If you have six or more, I would either do two or three colors. Consider picking two or three different styles for them to chose from.
What I like about Birdy Grey is they make it easy to achieve any of those combinations.
Below is an example of how I would style 3 different bridesmaids dresses in three different colors.
As you could imagine the options are endless because you have the consistency of the chiffon fabric. Allowing the color hues to be similar. This allows you to do different colors and styles of dresses where you may typically just be able to interchange color or style without it looking a little chaotic. There is definitely a line but I feel like it also depends on you personality, the bridesmaids personalities, and the style of the wedding and venue.
If you’re going to do a mismatched looked, I would 100% start with Birdy Grey. Can’t wait to see what you guys style! Be sure to tag me or share with me so I can see.
